Who I am

I am a Multiple-Subject Credentialed teacher with over 20 years of experience working with children. My experience includes special and general education classrooms spanning Pre-K through 8th grade, nannying for infants, providing 1:1 play-based behavioral support to neurodivergent toddlers, tutoring students in math, language arts, history and science, teaching art enrichment classes, serving as a youth sports coach in both soccer and cross country, and of course working as a classroom teacher for almost 12 years. In addition, I am a mother to two wild and beautiful children.
I hold my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with minors in both Education and Spanish from UC Santa Cruz. I have a Multiple-Subject Teaching Credential from Sonoma State University. I am a Sebastopol native and love this place and the opportunities it offers to engage with nature and to build community.
My Philosophy
My pedagogy is child-centered and holistic. It embraces the beautiful curiosity and imagination innate within each individual. I follow the interests of the children while using my experience and knowledge of child development to plan activities and experiences that are both engaging and developmentally appropriate.

Activities and Experiences
We will explore the garden and engage in bug and critter explorations. Fine motor skills will be fostered through age-appropriate art projects, sensory play in nature, sand and water play, sensory bins and more. Children will be invited to dramatize, make music, build, stack, and create.

Our space includes:
•A sweet play room filled with wooden toys, puzzles, blocks, a play kitchen and more.

•Nap room(s) with books and cozy bedding for each child.
•An inviting backyard play space filled with flowering plants, a small veggie garden, fruit trees, a play house, sensory table, sand box and ride on toys.

•We are very fortunate to have Ragle Ranch right around the corner and use this beautiful space for nature exploration and play.
Social Emotional Learning
Perhaps the most important element of learning, especially in young children, is social emotional learning. It is woven into everything we do, and I am always modeling and guiding the children on how to communicate their needs and feelings, and how to problem solve effectively.
Creating a physically and emotionally safe environment where every child feels loved and respected is my most important job.
